Cutting-edge lecture series dedicated to public value in partnership with UCL
August 15 2018On Tuesday 4 September at 6.30pm, Amanda will be giving a talk as part of a lecture series entitled “Rethinking Public Value and Public Purpose in 21st Century Capitalism” presented by UCL’s Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose in collaboration with the British Library.
Her lecture, ‘Only Connect: why public spaces matter’ will explore what makes good public space. It will question the role played by our institutions in the creation of public space and how they can be risk takers in a risk-averse world in order to advance the debate.
Exploring these ideas through two AL_A projects – the V&A Exhibition Road Quarter in London and MAAT in Lisbon – Amanda will examine the purpose and value of public spaces and the impact they can have on public organisations.
Other speakers taking part in the series include Richard Rogers, Shumi Bose, Stephanie Kelton, Jayati Ghosh, Lucy Musgrave, Mariana Mazzucato, Brian Eno, Finn Williams, Mike Bracken, Rainer Kattel, Dan Hill and Jeremy Till. More information can be found here.
The event is free and will take place at the Knowledge Centre, The British Library, 96 Euston Road, London, NW1 2DB.
