V&A voted London’s favourite museum

Time Out publish readers' vote and rank Sackler Courtyard the Number 1 'Thing To Do in London'

November 7 2017

Over 1,300 Time Out readers have voted for their favourite London museum. The V&A won 16% of the vote ahead of the British Museum, The Wellcome Collection, The Natural History Museum, The Design Museum and the Science Museum among others.

Deputy Director of the V&A Tim Reeve said, ‘We are honoured that Time Out readers have voted us their favourite London museum. This year has been exceptional for the V&A, with record-breaking numbers coming to experience our blockbuster exhibitions… and to the V&A’s new Exhibition Road Quarter’.

In addition, Time Out have listed visiting the Sackler Courtyard as the Number 1 ‘Thing To Do in London’.

In September, the V&A announced record breaking visitor numbers, with over half now entering via the Exhibition Road Quarter entrance. The Art Newspaper commented: ‘Thanks to the extension, the museum has had its best two months since its opening in 1857, attracting 837,000 visitors in July and August, compared with 459,000 in the same period last year’.
