Talk to include discussion of the importance of risk in architecture

On Thursday 13 September at 19.00, Amanda will be speaking at the Royal Academy of Arts as part of the inaurgural Festival of Ideas.

In a lecture about some of her most pioneering projects and the importance of risk in architecture, Amanda will examine the influence architecture and urban design has on our daily lives using examples from AL_A’s most recent and upcoming projects.

This lecture will be followed by a Q&A chaired by writer and broadcaster Tom Dyckhoff.

The talk is part of a ten day festival of creative thinking with events ranging from interviews and talks to panel discussions and family workshops.

A meeting of great minds in art, architecture, literature, design, film and music, other speakers include musician and artist Goldie; artist and designer Es Devlin; architect Thomas Heatherwick; Waterstones Children’s Laureate Lauren Child; Royal Academician Gilbert and George RA; and Man Booker Prize-winning novelist Howard Jacobson.
