V&A project included in 2017's top cultural venues
December 5 2017Exhibition Road Quarter has been named in the Top 10 Cultural Venues of 2017 worldwide by Designboom. Others on the list include Louvre Abu Dhabi, LEGO House, Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa, Centro Botín and others. The list showcases this year’s most talked about projects. Designboom said: “bold designs characterize the buildings, as established names in the field of architecture have collaborated with cultural institutions across the globe to bring their creative visions to life”.
The project was also listed in Dezeen’s round-up of the Best Museum Projects of 2017. Tirpitz, Musée Yves Saint Laurent, Palestinian Museum and Tates St Ives Extension are also included in the top 10.
In the first two months of opening, the museum attracted 837,000 visitors with half arriving via the Exhibition Road Quarter. These two months were the best on record since the museum opened in 1857.
