AL_A with Arup shortlisted for Nine Elms to Pimlico Bridge competition

Competition: One of four teams shortlisted from 74 entries

April 9 2015

The London Borough of Wandsworth invited multi-disciplinary design teams from across the world to produce a concept design for a new cycle and pedestrian bridge across the River Thames in London, between Nine Elms and Pimlico.

This project is much more than a piece of infrastructure. It is the experience of accessing and crossing the bridge that shapes its identity.

Our strategy is to create a bridge that becomes an extension of the landscape. By opening up the entire breadth of the bridge onto the waterfront, it allows us to give shared and equal access to pedestrians, wheelchair users and cyclists without the need for any lifts.
